Type species: Gerrhonotus moreleti Bocourt, 1871, by subsequent designation by Tihen (1949: 596).

Taxonomic note: create as a genus was subsumed in Gerrhonotus by Bocourt (1878); synonymized with Barisia by Tihen (1949: 596); synonymized with Gerrhonotus by Wermuth (1969: 14); and restaured to full genus by Good (1988: 81).
