Name

Cyrtopodion baigii Masroor, 2008

Type locality: rocky foothills of the Khanbari Valley, Diamer Basha Dam Reservoir, Chilas, Astor District, Northern Areas, Karakoram Range, Pakistan (35º33'57N, 73º50'29E), at an elevation of 1181m.

Holotype: PMNH 1965, adult male, collected just before sunset by Khalid Javed Baig on 6 July 2007.

Etymology: The species epithet is a patronym honoring the late Dr. Khalid Javed Baig (1956-2006) for his contributions to the knowledge of the herpetofauna of Pakistan.

Cyrtopodion baigii is a species of gecko, a lizard in the family Gekkonidae. The species is endemic to Pakistan.[1]

Etymology

The specific name, baigii, is in honor of Pakistani herpetologist Khalid Javed Baig (1956–2006).[2]
Geographic range

C. baigii is found in norther Pakistan, in Astore District, Gilgit-Baltistan territory.[1]
Reproduction

C. baigii is oviparous.[1]
