Hylophilus is a genus of bird in the family Vireonidae. Established by Coenraad Jacob Temminck in 1822, it contains the following species as of 2014:[3]
Grey-eyed greenlet (Hylophilus amaurocephalus)
Rufous-crowned greenlet (Hylophilus poicilotis)
Olivaceous greenlet (Hylophilus olivaceus)
Ashy-headed greenlet (Hylophilus pectoralis)
Brown-headed greenlet (Hylophilus brunneiceps)
Lemon-chested greenlet (Hylophilus thoracicus)
Scrub greenlet (Hylophilus flavipes)
Grey-chested greenlet (Hylophilus semicinereus)
The name Hylophilus is composed of the Greek words for "forest" or "woodland" (hulē) and "-loving" (philos, from phileō, meaning "to love").[4]
