Colocasieae Brongn., Enum. Pl. Mus. Paris: 13. (1843). Validated by a reference to Colocasieae Endl., Gen. Pl.: 236. (1837).

Type genus: Colocasia Schott in H.W.Schott & S.L.Endlicher, Melet. Bot.: 18 (1832), nom. cons.

Note: Alocasia is isolated in this tribe and may be best placed in its own monotypic higher taxon (Cusimano et al., 2011).
