Leptaulopus Gomon et al., 2013

Type species: Aulopus damasi Tanaka, 1915

Etymology: The generic name Leptaulopus is a combination of the Greek leptos (= slender), and aulopus, a name long applied to the broader group of fishes to which the genus belongs, in reference to the slender form of species it comprises.
