Type species: Balitoropsis bartschi Smith, 1945

Etymology: opsis (= appearance), allusion not explained, presumably referring to resemblance to Balitora.

Balitoropsis also known as the lizard loaches is a genus of hillstream loaches native to eastern Asia.
