Notes
The meaning of Tydeoidea has varied over time. This superfamily was proposed by Cunliffe (1955) to accommodate the families Tydeidae, Speleognathidae, Ereynetidae, and Paratydeidae.
Next, this superfamily included 4 families: the Paratydeidae, Nematalycidae, Ereynetidae, and Tydeidae (Krantz, 1970: 151–152).
Next, it also comprised 4 families: the Paratydeidae, Ereynetidae, Tydeidae, and Iolinidae (Krantz, 1978: 236–237).
Last, the superfamily included the Tydeidae, Iolinidae, Ereynetidae, and Meyerellidae (André & Fain, 2000). This point of view was shared by Walter et al. (2009: 244–245) except that the name "Meyerellidae" was replaced by "Triophtydeidae" (replacement name for Meyerellidae). This classification with 4 families is also adopted by Lin & Zhang (2010) and Zhang et al. (2011).
A diachronic view is provided by André (2021, fig. 1).
