The length of the forewings is about 10 mm. The forewings are ochre at the base with a brown band in the medial area. The postdiscal area is light with narrow dark bands. The hindwings are uniform light.
Etymology

The species is named after Tonga, the hero of the Arthur Conan Doyle novel The Sign of the Four, who was an inhabitant of the Andaman Islands.[2]
