Name

Pachybrachis Chevrolat in Dejean, 1836: 420

Type species: Cryptocephalus hieroglyphicus Laicharting, 1781 by subsequent designation (Jacoby, 1908: 265).
Note:

Before Burlini spotted the mistake, former authors had often used by the incorrect spelling Pachybrachys even in many descriptions of new species (Burlini, M. 1968)
Synonyms

Pachybrachia Gistel, 1856: 380 [unjustified emendation] [syn. nov.: Bezděk, 2020: 176]
