Jinchao Xu is an American-Chinese mathematician, known for his work on multigrid methods and domain decomposition methods. He studied at the Xiangtan University in the Hunan province and obtained his Ph.D. at Cornell University from James H. Bramble.

He is distinguished professor at the Pennsylvania State University and ISI highly cited researcher.
