Etymology: The name Planonasus refers to the flat snout of these sharks (Latin planus = flat, and nasus = nose).

Planonasus is a genus of ground sharks in the family Pseudotriakidae, native to the western Indian Ocean.[1][2]

Planonasus indicus (Ebert, Akhilesh, & Weigmann, 2018) (pygmy false catshark)
