Metzia Jordan & Thompson, 1914

Type species: Acheilognathus mesembrinum Jordan & Evermann, 1902

Etymologie: In honour of Charles William Metz, Stanford University, who helped authors identify fishes collected in Japan.

Metzia is a genus of cyprinid fish that is found in eastern Asia. The genus is named in honor of the American ichthyologist Charles William Metz of Stanford University.[1]
