HD 47536 is a 5th magnitude K-type giant star located approximately 400 light-years away in the constellation of Canis Major. The exact mass of the star is unknown, either 1.1 or 3 MS. As of 2007, two planets are known in orbit around the lowest metallicity star.
Setiawan discovered both planets around the star: HD 47536 b in 2002[2] and HD 47536 c in 2007.
