HD 153950 is a F type star that is hotter and larger than our Sun. It is located in the southern constellation Scorpius. It is a 7th magnitude star at a distance of about 188 light years from Earth.[1] Planetary system In October 2008 an extrasolar planet, HD 153950 b, was reported to be orbiting this star. This object was detected using the radial velocity method by search programs conducted using the HARPS spectrograph.[2]
